Check Engine light 200 91

Ok, its on and it won't go off. I have researched what info I have and find nothing conclusive as to its origins. My local trusted mechanic won't give me any tips except to bring it in for them to look at. Does anyone have any clues as to what to correct or check to extiguish that stupid light?

    Need a little more info.

    Have you checked the codes on the on-board diagnostic computer (little box on fenderwell next to brake master cylinder)?
