My 740 wagon could use a new headliner. IPD's catalog makes noises about any easy installation from their kit.

I'm worried that I will end up with a sagging, droopy mess. Has anyone out their tried one yet?

I live in So Cal and found a shop that replaced my liner (740 wagon w/sunroof). They did the job for $190, looks better than when I bought it new.

I Live in S.Cal. Where is that shop? My wagon needs a new liner and that is a very good price. Thanks

Can you tell us the name/location/ph# of the shop you used.

I assumed this was the same unit as the one offered by someone at the urbanadvantage web site,, but I tried going there recently and it could not be found...wanted to compare the prices.

Anyone know if they are the same kits? Can they still be had outside of IPD?

I looked at the directions but feared the ensuing mess so I sucked it up and after several calls to different upholstery shops found someone who would do the full roof and sunroof for $325. I know its more than double what the IPD kit sells for but at least it will be done perfectly and I wont spray adhesive my fingers together....

try looking at a junkyard unit. i had the same problem and found a great unit for $40 - installed in a half hour.

Does any 700/900 wagon headliner fit any year (assuming that it has a sunroof)?

I've only seen one good headliner in a junkyard (it was near new), but it was in a sedan.

I installed the IPD headliner kit in my '88 last summer. The IPD instructions (along with the 700/900 FAQ) will get you through it just fine. It does take an extra person to help remove the headliner & sunroof. The fabric went on fine and looked really good when done.

It does not sound like an easy job, but IPD will send you the docs on how to do it, if you're up for it. Looks like the sunroof part is the most difficult.
