casette deck 700 1988

My 88' 760 GLE came with a separate casette deck and receiver, ht ecasette deck has a number 4178 on the face. A small device on the bottom of the deck has burned out. ( A small solenoid type actuator which controls the tape eject, anyway,)

Does anyone know who manufactures this casette deck, or where to get electronic parts to repair it, or where can I get the casette deck repaired.

    Art,

I think I know which solenoid you mean - it has a small clapper like a relay, but causes the reversal of the tape direction.

I have several old units cannibalized for various other defects, like worn capstan bearings and head mounting, so I may be able to provide the part. You could send it to me and if I can get it going it will only cost you the return postage. Email off list.

/// Pull the deck and read the mfj. tag. How do you know that the "eject" is burned out? Eject is usually manual. It can be electric but would be motor driven gear reduced because of the load involved. Is the problem that a tape will not eject?

I don't want to type a long post withour more information.
