Hard brake pedal. 700 84

Brakes are normal after a cold start. 5 to 10 minutes later any pumping will make them harder, intentional pumping makes them worse. Is this the master cylinder or do Volvos have something else to look for?

I would check the vacuum line to the booster. Sounds to me like there isn't enough getting to the brakes. Similar to pumping with the engine off?

If I were you I would go ahead and replace the vacume hose to the boosterand see if it makes any diffrence. If not the diaphram in the booster may be leaking, if that is the case it is time for a new booster.

Or it could just be the check valve seated in the booster. Quite a common problem as these cars age.
