AW 71 fluid recommendations?

OK I know this has been discussed before but the archives don't seem to be working. Should you use Type F or Dexron II/III in an early AW 71 auto trans as fitted to a 240 Turbo? It's time for a flush and I can't get any redline right now. Thanks.

AMSOIL synthetic ATF will work in either case.

Type F if the drain pan has no plug and Dexron III if the pan has a plug. The 81-83 used Type F and 84 up use Dexron III. 81-83 with a factory rebuilt unit installed after late 84 would have a plug and use Dexron III.
