Left turn lights front and back work normally when headlights or parking lights are off. BUT!!! as soon as I turn on the headlights or parking lights the left turn lights front and rear stays on, not flashing just on.

No problem with the right turn lights.

Any ideas as to what the problem is, can I fix it or is this problem better left to the dealer.

Just went through the same thing. You have a bad turn signal bulb, probably the front one. I replaced all the bulbs (about $5.00) and the problem went away. The funny thing is, I did not get a bad light display on the dash, the right turn arrow stayed on unless the headlights were off. Easy fix. Look on the back of the Volvo manual and it will tell you what bulbs you need for which light.

The grounds behind headlight need to be checked as well as just the insertion of bulb into socket and corrosion in sockets. The ground for front is behind headlamp on the inner fender.
