service manual - haynes vs. chiltons 900 1991

Hi,

I just purchased a 91 940 turbo wagon and was looking for a descent service manual. Does anyone have any thoughts on which is better, Haynes or Chilton? For that matter, are there any other manuals out there beyond these two?

Thanks,

john

    John --

Haynes is OK, but you must be alert to "regional" issues. For example, the 240 main schematic shows certain wiring configurations for European versions, and the North American variations are tucked away as addendums on the right of the main schematic. Many folks miss this and become frustrated with their "wrong" schematics.

Chiltons might be good as a door stop, though the pages are so flimsy they'll flop in the breeze. Maybe it'd be OK in the bathroom.

Robert Bentley (click) manuals are outstanding, and many are available at a discount to VCOA members (see the back pages of Rolling).
