Fuel Smell @ Vac End of Fuel Press Reg 700 86

Should there be a fuel smell at the vacuum end of the fuel pressure regulator? I know that they can fail and am wondering if this is a sign of impending failure.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks. I changed it this evening. Takes approx 15 minutes. Seems a little less hesitant.

Thanks again,

If you are brave/stupid like me, you can try removing the vacuum hose from the manifold, & suck like mad on the hose. If you get a gasoline taste, then you need to replace your FPR.

No there shouldn't. Diaphragm might be leaking. I'd replace that sucker. Probably improve mileage and throttle response anyway.
