Oddity with idle adjust, 1krpm idle? 700 1985

Quickly: Idle adjust screw in all the way, TB adjusted properly. Idleling at about 950-1100 rpm (not fluctuating). If I block off the IAC pipe, idle drops to about 500-600 (guessing by sound of engine), again with idle ajust screw all the way in. IAC motor is new, TPS was swaped with a good one less than 2 months ago (at time of TB cleaning).

    TPS swapped, but was it properly adjusted? You should see a big jump in ignition timing just off idle if that's all working correctly.

    Air leakage around the base of the throttle body or in the idle adjuster will cause your problem too. Did you use new gaskets and O-rings?

      Indeed, I do see the timing jump. The body was cleaned and all was put back together with a kit from rpr; includes all the washers, I believe it should be ok. Suggestions?
