Tail Light Broke N, Now I Need Advice. 700 1985

I bought a used '85 740 two months ago, and the passenger clear reverse light lense was loose. It seemed to stay in place by some kind of magic, or maybe London Forces or Ionic-Volvo Bonding. I knew that I would need to fix it, so I purchased some tail-light lense adhesive, and put it in the trunk. I left it in the trunk until the lense fell off on the freeway (I think). It's GONE!!

.

Anyway, enough of the background. Question 1: Does anyone know where I can purchase a clear reverse light lense? The rest of the assembly is in premium shape, and I know them bastards are expensive.

.

Question 2: The driver's side tail light assembly has a broken bracket for one of the bulbs. It is one of the lower (maybe the brake/headlight) ones, so it could get me a ticket. Is there any way to fix this? As everyone knows, the bulb-retainer mounts on the light assembly and the corresponding printed circuit sheet. The bracket of the assembly is broken where the tabs of the bulb-retainer should be holding itself in.

.

While I am at it, the passenger front signal indicator lense is broken. This one is like the problem in Question 1 above, with the lense only broken. If anyone knows where lenses can be purchased, please share the wealth!!

.

Mahalo.

I find that in the hardware section of Home Depot they have blank steel & aluminum stock (plain rods/bars/sheets/threaded rods/angle iron/etc). I would make a bracket or bracket repair piece and rivet or sheet metal screw this where needed. Plastic cable ties work well for odd and tight places where a strong fastner is needed too. Drill a couple-o-holes and thread them through. Tighten-em-up and your done.

Thomas: the clear tail light lens are available at the Volvo parts counter at a reasonable price. Volvo knows the problem. I suggest you use clear RTV and also do the other side. The clear lens allow UV degradation of the OEM cement. It does not seem to affect the darker lens.

The front corner lights also have this habit, but are very expensive.

some people have suggested Matt's lenses as a source for used. Do a search. I suggest that RTV be used on all of the corner lights as repair and preventative medicine or "prepair".

IPD has some parts for you or go to the junkyard. All the usual disclaimers apply.
