Wiper problem 200 1989

I have the 89 240 Sedan. I have noticed lately that it has been clicking every time it moves back and forth. Its not really that much of a problem, but since its raining alot in AL, it is getting annoying.

Thanks

don't feel bad, my '88 240dl has the same trouble. here in GA <> we've been getting the same rain. one thing, strta with fresh, clean wipers then get inside the car and remove the glovebox and speedo cluster (PAY ATTENTION TO THE WIRES THAT ARE CONNECTED and not AND RECONNECT **ONLY** THAOSE THAT WERE ORIGINALLY CONNECTED AND NOTHING MORE) and look to the back (firewall) and up. you will see an aliminum rail. this is the wiper rail (run your wipers to get a quicker view of it. i haven't done this yet, but next nice day i'm gonna do this and see if i can add something to the ends of the rail to cushion the bump. i can truely sympathise with you about the noise driving you crazy. most any noises that aren't normal in a car drives me nuts (ask my wife for proof) and no matter how slight the sound, i'll hear and focus on it 'til i'm about to crack.

anyone else have a better solution??? PLEASE let me know also..........

I just had my 86 245 fixed. One of the permanent magnets in the wiper motor eventually worked itself loose and we had to replace the motor. It is a common 240 problem according to my friend and mechanic who has been fixing Volvos for 40 years.
