940 speaker cover and brake pedal rubber 900 1995

Looking for a radio speaker cover for the passenger side of a 1995 Volvo 940. Is there still a supplier anywhere for these?

Hi Bob. Did you phone Chapman Cobble Hill? Bobby will almost certainly be able to find you a good 700/900 speaker grill and brake pedal pad. If it's not convenient to drive down to get it, they can of course parcel post or courier it to you (for a price). Way cheaper than trying to bring new parts up across the border -nobody is free shipping to Canada these days other than Amazon and the odd eBay seller, plus the exchange rate and credit card currency conversion charge are a killer and the new rules for online shopping get you nailed for the 12% GST, not to mention possible duty.

Just a reminder, when installing speaker grills, make sure the door panel is kept pushed in while you slide it on to keep the studs fully exposed. A plastic tab can crack if you have trouble sliding it on and then decide to push it in harder. BTDT

BTW Front speaker grill p/n 1379327 is still available in the Volvo parts chain, CAD $48 ea, also brake pedal pad p/n 1272066 for $20. The pad will likely be in Canadian stock, like Toronto, but the grill may need to come from the States, so a longer wait. Also, Volvo Downtown Toronto has web discount pricing for parts and free shipping over $100. I've been using them a lot lately. Even with shipping, cheaper than 3/4s of a tank of gas to get down to Victoria and back.

Morning Dave,

How nice it is to get back into the Volvo loop once again. This 940 has been so reliable I have not had to get much for it over the last couple of years. I have adopted it as my permanent winter car now since I sold the 240.

I have bought and sold this car about three times before coming to this conclusion. I also drove it to Puerto Vallarta six years ago. Been a great car and I have decided to start fixing up some of the more deteriorated bits. My last buyer had a dog and it might have knocked the speaker cover off sometime during the year or so he had it. Lots of coffee stains on the deteriorating carpet as well. It is now home for good.

I drove to Chapman's outlet in Nanaimo yesterday but it looked like it has been abandoned. New chain link fencing and the property divided. Do you know if it is still functioning? It was a Saturday however. I could not get through to Mill Bay on the phone either.

I will try to phone Mill Bay tomorrow on a Monday and see what I can find. I ordered a brake pad from ipd. The price was reasonable but the shipping brought in a final price of twenty to thirty dollars as I remember.Sorry I didn't wait for your and Spook's replies.

Dear muskox37,

Hope you're well and stay so! To get a brake pedal rubber cover, see: https://www.fcpeuro.com/Parts/?keywords=1272066 The cost is $4.19. FCP also has a genuine Volvo rubber brake pedal cover. The cost is $14.99.

Hope this helps.

Yours faithfully,

Spook

Morning Spook,

Too bad I didn't get your reply before I ordered the brake pad from ipd. Price was fine but shipping put the price up to around thirty dollars.

C'est la vie! Regardless, nice to hear from you.

Dear muskox37,

Hope you're well and stay so. I try to respond promptly, when I'm sure I have an authoritative answer. That was the case here.

How many push-ups do I owe, as penance for the five-hour delay in my response???

Stay well!!!

Yours faithfully,

Spook

Near Atlanta, GA
https://www.voluparts.com/

a new brake pedal may be better, yet you can a used replacement brake pedal. Else, iPd sells these or used to. Maybe FCP Euro does also?

Junkyard near you?

FleaBay?

Hope that halps!
