Has anybody used Gates Barricade fuel hose for the hose between fuel pump and carbs? Napa has a 1/4" ID that will be equivalent to the 6mm needed.

I live in a small town and there aren't a lot of options.

      We prefer what are called "fuel injection" hose clamps as they don't easily damage the outer barrier of the fuel hose.

      I can't remember the size, but I think #10 for the 3/16" fuel hose and #13 for the 1/4" hose.

      You can use "Ideal" style hose clamps, but it's easy to over tighten the Ideal clamps which can damage the outer barrier of the fuel hose.

        The correct sized fuel hose from the fuel pump to the carbs and in between the 2 float bowls is actually 3/16".

            We stopped using Gates fuel hose almost 15 years ago because we started seeing the outside rubber barrier splitting down to the core. The hoses didn't leak, but you could see the outside of the inner core through the cracks. This might be due to the use of alcohol in the fuel.

            We were using "regular" Gates fuel hose.

            We switched to Goodyear hose which is now called Continental.
