Interesting side effect from your fancy sig: There's no opportunity to give YOU the thumbs. I had intended to "like" your Toto post.

Art, did you ever change your door chime to that Mozart aria?

I haven't yet done any mods to the chimes or buzzers. Remind me what that's about; Mozart + Volvo triggers some vague memory I can't pull up.

Edit: Google has fortified my memory. https://www.latimes.com/business/hiltzik/la-fi-hiltzik-volvo-queen-of-night-20190128-story.html

My dog is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to $3.00 a can.
That's almost $21.00 in dog money.

Having seen the video in kittysgreyvolvo's post I was interested to watch a couple of other videos in which door chimes had been converted to tunes. Both of these acknowledged the 'Africa' vid as their inspiration. But whereas the imitators both used a separate speaker and various add-on electronic components, the 'Africa' chime module seems to be entirely self-contained unless there's something the guy is not telling us. It would seem he simply figured out how to load new audio into the existing chime module.

Since you had previously expressed interest in such an endeavor I wonder if you have some insight into the process.

I wanted to high-five Kitty's response, not the modification. Still can't do it on that particular post, but guess I was wrong about his sig being the reason.

Yes, I thought it was cute, in the way it would be a conversation starter in a physical meet among 240 aficionados. It isn't a modification of the chime circuit, but an addition of a stored music clip on a chip made for such things like musical greeting cards, plush toys and the like. If someone actually used the piezo "speaker" in the chime unit for the music, I can see why imitators opted for external speakers, hi-fi in comparison, leaving the original chime unit to do the logic part. Here's a look at the simple guts of the blue box chime and its logic:
