HIF6 Stuck Jet and Fuel Dumping on the Rear Carb 140-160

I made a decision to buy a set of HIF6 carbs from Tradera a few months ago and finally got around to mounting them on my B20. Well, the front carb seems to work as planned but the rear started spewing fuel from the overflow tubing/hot start area. Also then noticed that no matter how much I screwed in or out, the jet wouldn't budge from well below the flush level.

I'm also at a loss to what model these carbs are. I'm assuming they may not be matched at this point but I'd like to get a rebuild kit for it. Is there a way to determine the model or year of the carbs by looking at it? The metal tags are missing from the top. I was told they were rebuilt...guess not.

Ugh, foolish me!

HIF6 Stuck Jet and Fuel Dumping on the Rear Carb 140-160

BY EVERYTHING Volvos from Heck has, particularly the HIF stuff. You NEEED solid throttles for your HIF6 SU's, delete the spring loaded valve the emmisions cars have.

I went from HS6 to HIF6 SU's & had fuel coming out everywhere. I ended up with Viton tipped+Spring loaded needle+seats to solve the problem, even though I had basic solid brass needle+seats in my HS6's on the identical motor. I also recommend a pressure bleed off system as seen on later emmision carbs like DGAV Webers.

If you should find you need to replace some major part of the carb -- I'm ready to clear out my carb collection of HIF6 and HS6 SU's. $10 each, or less if a number are wanted. Plus shipping, of course. Contact me at (six-three-one) 968-8933 -- Dave
