M46 - Type F Alternatives 200

I have read the posts from 2004 re: Amsoil Super Shift and Red line type F - both synthetics. Am currently using plain old type F - change every 2 years and no issues.
Any updates since 2004 from those who have switched to synthetic Type F in an M46, pros and cons.

I agree if it ain't broke don't fix it, so any good reason to change at this point.

Thanks

Volvo recommends 10W/40 in areas where the temperature seldom drops below -10C (14F). I used this engine oil for many years in my M46 equipped 2 and 7 series cars.

Hi Mike,

Why don't you contact the major oil companies: Shell, Mobil, etc. ,
and ask them for tech support for vintage autos.
Maybe they will have some good reasons to switch to a different transmission fluid.
Please report back with your findings.

Cheers, Bill

I didn't hear from you any reason why you would need to change what you're doing like hard shifting, noise or leaks.

Keep up the good work!!

When was the last time you checked the 2 filters inside the overdrive?
