Does anyone know if a used 780 Bertone drivers seat belt latch (female receptacle) can be used on a 740 drivers seat?

    Front seat belt catch assembly for 780s is listed as p/n 3521590. Fitment is listed for 780 only. It does not look similar to the one for your 740, the receptacle is a different shape and probably takes a different belt buckle. The electrical connector could also be different.

    Front seat belt catch assembly for the later 740s (with manual seat belt tensioner, not the later pyrotechnic tensioners), is listed as p/n 3525264 (left only?) superseding factory p/n 3548890 -try both p/ns when searching. Fitment is listed for 1988-1991 740/760, and 1991 (only) 940. It's still available in the Volvo parts chain, but not overly cheap, so used is probably your best bet.
