Driver's window won't stay in channel 200 1989

Manual windows. The front window channel is still present but split about halfway down. Closing the door with the window open causes the window to leave the channel, making it impossible to fully close the window.

I'm looking for a reliable solution. Perhaps I could use some sort of adhesive to repair the channel; not quite sure what would work. Also thought about finding a donor car, removing, perhaps splicing in a piece that would work.

Anyone with experience on this?

    I bet you could find some kind of channels on ebay..the channel wore down & I think the same is happening to my 940
