For future reference of others, I'm not sure if this has the 52 mm openings, but p/n 1259695 called a Carrier for three gauges in the upper slot is still available in the Volvo parts chain and not grossly expensive
https://www.volvopartswebstore.com/products/Volvo/1981/240-2DRS-SR-23l-Fuel-Injected/Carrier-Genuine-Classic-Part/1115994/1259659.html (#55 on the fische, go to the top of the web page for an exploded diagram)
Fitment is listed for 1981-1984 240/260 dashes and may well fit other years.
Listed right below it is #55a p/n 1308472 called Cap that appears to be the blank insert for unused holes, also still available and also cheap

Additionally, there are two other gauge cluster inserts #59 1259660 and 1259661 called Covers which appear to go over the gauge carrier. Possibly they accomodate different sized gauges (you'd have to ask a parts service desk for more info)

Thanks Dave. I didn't realize there were so many parts involved. Looks like my picture is only the cover. Then there is a gauge mounting panel and possible some "rings". The price, $10.94, is shockingly good but the shipping is another $23 and then there's the other parts. I'll check with the service desk. Thanks for the infor and p/n's.

Note that the cover panel you pictured may not be available in the Volvo parts chain, so you may want to reach out to others that have replied here. On the Volvo North America Canadian parts network only p/n 1259660 is listed and it specifically says no longer available. It's still worth asking your local Volvo parts desk as they may be able to find it on their network in local stock at another dealer and as well be able to tell you if there is a difference between the two #59 cover panel part nos I noted -quite possibly nothing.

Hi,

That’s going back a lot of years if you are wanting one for a 1981.
That system was popular for several years later.

It has been a long time since I took the one I have out of a car and I’m thinking it was a turbo car?
It is something like that shown but mine has a gauge or two still in it.
Probably the boost and something else?
I probably wanted a tachometer or a voltmeter.

I was rummaging through my stash of collected stuff last week when I was home there for a week.
They usually have three gauges in a mount made to hold them.
I may only have the mounting piece or possibly a mask plate too?
I got the whole array at once because it’s cheaper to buy bigger chunks than let them piece meal you to death at checkout!

You need to tell us more about what you are looking for and for what?
The picture is only the masking plate that clips into the dash mounting in front of the gauges.

When gauges are used vertically the mask plates are two separate pieces.
I know I have a couple of those.
In fact I have NOS ones I got from RPR when they closed the business.
I have a few other things new too but haven’t made a list. He sold me stuff that I will never use for different Volvo model cars. So, in essence I help him move out.
He had a deadline to sell the place in Albany, California. Rusty retired to Napa California.

Now that I got you all spun up on what I might have, I have a let down!
The Trouble is, I’m not going to be at that house for a couple more months so I just cannot go peek at it!

If you don’t have any luck locating what you are looking for, I can be a backup contact here on the board.

Phil

I have a couple of those complete panels and some loose gauges. I also have a few of the small tachometers that fit in the center of the '73-'74 140 and '75-'80 240 clusters. E-mail me at fastforwardphoto(at)yahoo(dot)com -- Dave

Thanks. My '81 DL non-turbo has the later dash design so I don't know if the early 200 stuff will fit. I already have three 52mm VDO gauges: Voltage, Oil Press, and Oil Temp.

I used to have a Volvo digital radio installed in that upper space but it failed some time ago and I find I don't really need a radio.

I answered your e-mail John. That leaves me with a bunch of loose gauges and one complete 3 gauge set up if you want the other 3 gauge frame and cover that I have. -- Dave
