front turn signals 444-544

Hi! New owner here, would like to replace front turn signals. They work but are cracked. Ideas on where to find some?

I may be completely wrong on this--been 45 years since I owned a 544. Are these round fixtures with a clear lens that sets into a groove in the mounting rubber? I seem to remember them being the same as many 1950's-'60's British sports cars that used the same fixture. Maybe regular Brickboard poster Eric has an answer. - Dave

Dave remembers correctly, but there are 3 versions of the lenses and 3 versions of the mounting rubber.

What model, 444, 445, 544 or P210 and what year?

And even then, because the front fenders are all interchangeable, your front lights might not be in the correct spot for the original year of the car, so you might want to post a picture of the front of the car.

A little over a year ago, I sold a pair of front turn signals including the mounting rubber to a customer with a 1963 544 after the car was painted.

The customer got back to me to let me now the body shop couldn't mount 1 side correctly and it turned out his car had 1 correct fender and 1 early fender.

1 of the differences is where the front turn signal is mounted and thus the shape of the mounting rubber. I wound up exchanging the 1 later mounting rubber for the correct 1 for the early fender.

Ace; This is not my area of expertise, so I can't help with your question, but I just wanted to note that only a guy who really knows his guacamole (and virtually every nut and bolt on a vintage Volvo model by its first name), and also has all synapses firing, would have such info at his immediate command.

When you bought new wings from Volvo, I'm guessing after about 1961, they came without a hole for the light. In the workshop manual they provided a diagram with measurements to establish the position to drill.
Lucas type Brit indicators are cheap, quality varies, and can be substituted if you aren't fussy about originality. Parts don't interchange. It is also an easy way of getting orange lenses.
