affects mpg between Bosch & orRegina.??

    I don't see how.
The ECU calculates the fuel needed to reach the optimum mixture, and slight differences in fuel pressures will just lead to the ECU adjusting injector duration. It's not the fuel pressure that counts, but what the AMM, ECT and O2 sensor tell the ECU. The latter sensor closes the control-loop.

The regulator sets the basis on the flow of the injector spray. ECU and O2 sensor controls the duration the injectors are open. So Yes ! The fuel pressure regulator does effect the gasoline mileage if faulty. There is only so much parameters the ECU and O2 sensor can control. Remember as the engine RPM increases, there is only some much time to get fuel delivered. 😎

I had an FPR fail on me slowly on my previous 245. Contrary to what you might expect was that fuel consumption was hardly affected, but driveability was.

I think the reason why this is so is because the fuel/air mix in a gas engine cannot deviate all that much from the optimum 1:14.7 before driveability is badly affected by either running too lean or too rich. I seem to remember 1:12-1:20 is the range.
In comparison, a diesel engine will operate in a much wider range 1:18-1:70.

I wouldn't at all be surpriused if LH Jet and Regina use the same fuel pressure.

Your fuel mileage would most likely not change much due to loss of fuel rail pressure but, then again a broken diaphragm will pump fuel in the vacuum hose throttle port.

        Dear Nahtanha,

Hope you're well!! I agree as to a faulty fuel pressure regulator (FPR). But Blindboy asked if there were a difference between a Bosch FPR and a Rex-Regina FPR, i.e., could one be substituted for the other. I think such a substitution will not affect fuel mileage. How say you?

        Yours faithfully,

        Spook

So long as the control pressure is the same.👍

            Dear Nahtanha,

Hope you're well. Both Bosch and Rex-Regina fuel pressure regulations are set up for a 300 kPa system pressure.

            Hope this helps.

            Yours faithfully,

    Dear Blindboy,

Hope you're well and stay so. These devices interchange between the two fuel management systems, so I think either will have no impact on fuel mileage.

    Hope this helps.

    Yours faithfully,

    Spook
