Head Gasket - Which is Best? 900 1994

My B230FT is leaking oil externally from the low, rear side of the #4 cylinder. Also seeping coolant externally on the intake side, around the #2 and #3 cylinder.
No driving issues and turbo is sound.
Cylinder head comes off tomorrow and will be leak tested and resurfaced at the machine shop.
I’ll check the block deck for trueness and deal with any irregularities.
TTY head bolts will again be replaced.
Q: Who is currently making the BEST cylinder head gasket? Second time in 3 years I’ve had to pull the head and deal with these external fluid leaks.
Thanks everyone!

Head Gasket - Which is Best? From the FAQ! 900 1994

iPd and FCP have Elring, Mahle, Victor-Reinz, and something name Corteco.

The head gasket kit is Volvo PN 270689. NLA from Volvo. Maybe you can get individual parts.

    The Volvo https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/volvo-valve-grind-gasket-kit-270689

I've forgotten what brand is better.

If you did not apply cylinder head bolt torque using the proper sequence in stages in stages, as you ask about it here, applying torque incorrectly will lead to head gasket failure.

There is a limit to how much material can be removed from the cylinder head. Max is 4mm?

Also, how did you prep the block deck? Did you measure that for uneven surface?

You also have gasket options for performance build above factory spec. I'm unsure you they are. May want to ask at Turbobricks.

        Hi Townshend Act,

Edit: Please read here in the FAQ. I'll bet you've reviewed all this content. In the FAQ detailed descriptive files.

I always think of Pete Townshend in the band The Who!

I fat-fingered there a bit. Please try again with what I hope is helpful copy to your cause!

Have you removed the head yet?

When the head gasket went on the V-8 in my old high-mileage Suburban (Its first life was a school bus) I found that all the bolts on the ends of the heads took almost no force to remove them.

You might measure the torque needed to loosen your head bolts - you might find a pattern that indicates a loss of torque.

How about checking the head bolts 6 months after you finish your work?
