How to re-fit PV hood? 444-544 1962

Anybody got any good ideas on how to re-fit the PV hood, after it's been removed? I'm restoringl a '62 and, after having the hood off for awhile, am just now getting it back on, and I simply can't get the 4 bolts positioned correctly to make the hood sit down on the cowling and fenders precisely. It's very fiddly, to say the least, and you can't access the bolts from below for instance, when the hood is closed.

Off the wall suggestion. Fit and leave the bolts JUST slack enough to allow you to settle the hood down nicely. Lift hood and flow some glue around the bolts. Close hood and settle it down again. Leave until completely set so that you can lift the hood without them moving. Either carefully mark the bolt positions, clean off the glue and refit the bolts or just fully tighten the bolts and then remove any surplus glue. Glue is your choice, but it will have to be strong!

When removing hood hinges, PV or Amazon, you can drill a hole through the hinge/bracket to take a pop rivet. Use those to ensure it all goes together in the same place when refitting. You may be able to use this trick with door hinges too.

Which style of hood, B16 or B18 and they are different.

Did you move the front fenders or front panel at the same time?

Those 4 bolts are the only way to adjust the hood. I was able to make it set down at the cowl and look pretty good when latched but the gap on each fender never suited me completely.

Best of luck.
