Mounting Retractable Seatbelts 444-544

I bought a barely used 140 retractor seatbelt set but when I tried to use the bracket that came with it, the hole at the bottom of the B pillar appears to be too close to the seat to allow the retractor mechanism to mount. The hole appears to be about 2" too far back.

Anybody have any experience or suggestions?

Found something that might work:

Hold on...I think I actually have access to these pieces locally. I'll be in touch if they don't work out.

By seat you mean the front cross mount of the rear seat. No there is very little space there, even for mounting the lower plate of static belts. A retractable reel will also intrude into the door opening. If you remove the rear seat squab you'll see a square hole in the bodywork You could inset a U bracket into there for mounting the real The belt could then slide up the side of the seat squab. Suggestion offered as something to think about. Some views here that might be useful. When rear seat belts were fitted to the Saab 96 the reel was hidden and the belt came out at the top of the side trim panel. Another idea.
