I used Hagerty for years. Switched a couple of years ago as their rates are, IMO, quite non-competitive with easily available alternatives. Assuming of course the company you choose will cover your car. I use Heacock Insurance who brokers the coverage through Grundy. I have a large umbrella liability policy that requires much higher limits on all my car policies. By switching away from Hagerty, for identical coverage, I'm saving 50% over Hagerty's quotes for my business. I'm convinced Hagerty's paying too much attention to magazine publishing and other car-related ventures which cost money but don't help them provide insurance coverage.

Just my 2 cents. I have 2 collector cars covered by Grundy through Heacock.

I've had their coverage on my 1969 144S for the past 5 years or so and recently they agreed to cover the 1993 245 I'm putting on the road. The coverage of the '93 represents a change in their policy as they had turned it down a few years ago. To have a car that may not actually be considered a "collectible" insured by them requires that you do have one that is--and the new car is not used as a daily driver. - Dave
