    It looks new because the temporary 80 km/h (50 mph) max spare has disintegrated and been taken off, I guess. I once had one of which the tread had torn off the plies without ever having been used.

    FWIW, mine is still fitted with the 155R15 90Q limp home spare, but I have a full spare in the car (185R14). I have never needed it since I have a 245, but it's a nice thought to have a normal size spare anyway.
