VJU(N) 4 BL 33 Distributor - What electronic Point system 444-544

My, new to me, 65 PV544 has a Bosch distributor labeled VJUN 4 BL33 and I am wanting to upgrade to and electronic points system within the distributor.

Just as an introduction, I have three other "vintage" British cars and have, just as a point of convenience upgraded them to electronic points. My last Volvo, a 67 122S ran points just fine but at the time I owned it (YEARS ago) electronic ignitions were in their infancy

What systems are you all using successfully?

Thanks in advance!
Rick in Kirkland, TN

I've had my Pertronics installed for about 4 years. Trouble free. Easy to install, should take under an hour to remove the existing and reinstall with new equipment.

I had a Pertonix in my 544 for 15 years now, never had any problems. Switched to a 123 distributor when i rebuilt the engine with an overbore 4 years ago, here also no problems. I wouldn't care to keep a spare distributor in the trunk.

I have a friend who works on high dollar hot rods and classic cars.

Whenever the owner wants an electronic ignition system he generally provides the car with a spare conventional distributor.

Any handy mechanic can get a car running with conventional distributor - if a black box is defective, you are out of luck.

In this case, what he needs to carry around as spares are the correct points, condenser and mounting hardware to convert his distributor back.

FYI, when we sell 1 of the 123Ignitions distributors we recommend to the customer to keep their old distributor as an emergency spare.

I have a Mallory Unilite and always keep a spare ignition module cap and rotor. Usually it's the cap and rotor that needs to be replaced.

This is the only kit that I know that works with the metal post on the breaker plate.
