Cloudy clock face cure? 1800 1970

Curious that of all the cars that I have refurbished, the most recurring problem is an inoperative clock. Ironically, in my recent acquisition, the clock works perfectly. My issue is that the glass face over the years has accumulated a cloud of what appear to be moisture stains on the internal side. With my A/C unit blocking clock removal access without unit removal, I hesitate going through the effort of removing the clock. If I do remove the clock, is it possible to personaly disassemble and simply remove the glass face or do I have to send it to a speedometer shop like others have done?

    Hello,

    If it were any of the other gauges, it would be simple. With the gauge removed you can turn the black bezel a little in either direction and it will come off along with the lens.

    However, with the clock you have to deal with the knob and I don't know how to remove the knob.

      maybe you could separate the lens and still leave the knob on just enough to slide a Q-tip or something to clean the face.

        I converted a clock to an inexpensive, battery quartz movement. In the process I replaced the glass with a plexiglass disc, but retained the winding knob to keep the look original. Don't remember the details, but I believe the knurled end of the setting knob can be removed by grasping the shaft with pliers and unscrewing it.
