1983 245 cruise control pickup 200

My cruise control quit working a while back. Since I had the speedometer out to repair the odometer I looked at the cruise control pickup. I see that it is a coil of wire on a small board. I tested continuity with my meter and got nothing. Shouldn't at least get something? How common is it for that coil to go bad?

I have two speedometer in my spare parts with cruse control pickup behind. The production year are about 1981 and 1984. I measured resistance between the two spade connections on both. They are 568 and 710 ohm. The appearance look the same.

Hope that helps.

Another data point. I have a spare one - probably from an 83 or 84 240 speedo and testing between its spade terminals, it showed 560-565 ohms on my two multimeters.
