My 62 p 544 had 5.9 (150mm) - 15 tyres. What was the profile on these cross ply tyres. I remember from somewhere that it was 80. Is this true??? So 150/80/15.

Yes, the original tire would have had an aspect ratio of 80. The bias ply type tire would have had a size designation of 5.90x15. When they switched to radials that size translated as 165x15. I had a set of Pirelli Cintaurato 67 fabric belted radials on my 1965 544 (my first Volvo in 1975). I loved them for the way you could toss the car around, smooth ride and good wet weather performance. - Dave

My understanding is that when things went to metric/radials - 165R15 or 165SR15 that the aspect ratio is actually 82%.
