Header Pipe - Egr VS Non-Egr 200

Maybe someone can keep me from creating a disaster.

I have a Non-EGR '93 240 which is going to need a header pipe at some point.

I have an EGR header pipe (stainless I was told when I bought it from FCP).

I's rather leave the Non-EGR pipe in place until I'm ready to pull it so I cannot readily do a side-by-side comparison with the EGR pipe.

I've always been told the two aren't interchangeable, but, if it will just take a little slicing and dicing, I'd like to use the Non-EGR pipe in the EGR car especially if it is stainless.

Does anyone know for certain how the two pipes differ?

Thanks, one and all.

I'm sorry I can't directly answer your question and I think you reversed your intent in that 3rd to last line. I do have a suggestion though - research what come after the header pipe. If the components are the same - EGR vs. non-EGR, I'd think the EGR pipe could be used on your car with the EGR port capped. Of course the reverse wouldn't be true if putting a non-EGR pipe onto an EGR car. - Dave

Header Pipe - Egr VS Non-Egr (Corrected) 200

Thanks! You are correct. I Would like to use an EGR header on a NON-EGR system.
I might need more help than I know, I can't even keep it straight myself.

Thanks, again, Volvo from Heck.
