Earliar IPD black lowering springs verses later blue ones?

is there a quailty differece between the black lowereing sprigs that IPD use to sell and the blue ones that they sell now? I had heared through the the grapevine that some thought that the earliar springs were better. looking for a consensus. Thanks.

We switched spring manufactures while I was working at IPD and tested several sets before making the change.

I think the 240 springs currently being sold by IPD are just as good, if not better than the old ones. The manufacturing process has improved a great deal over the years.

Springs were an item that often went on sale; if you are patient you should be able to save some money on a new set.

Earliar IPD black lowering springs verses later blue ones? 200

The prior black lowering or sport springs iPd soled were made by TME of Sweden.

iPd sold these fixed rate TME springs as a set of 4 for for 242 / 244 and another set for 245 estate / wagon with a high rate for the rear springs.

I installed in 2001 or so. These TME springs are rusting. They also continue to settle so the lowering is more than the original suggesting in the iPd documentation.

From what I have read, the blue iPd springs are fewer turns yet the wire is a larger diameter and does not lower as much.

My plan is to get HD springs front and rear and restore normal ride on my 1991.

Lowering does not work so well in a nation of rotten and rotting roads and greasy asphalt formulations that are slick in the slightest or greatest rainfall.

the IPD 240 sway bars that cost $100 + shipping were sort of metal flake when I bought them in 1991.
