Fuel line replacement 900 1995

Hey guys
1995 940 non turbo. Switching out fuel filter noticed that the fuel line running from the filter to through the motor bay and meets the fuel rail is really worn after 308k. Is this pressurized fuel hose replaceable? My understanding is the dealer no longer Carrie's part.
Thanks

If you are concerned about the rubber armor, you could get a new nylon line and the proper sized rubber hose, slit the hose along its length and put it on the nylon line.

While this seems difficult, electricians have a tool to slice the outer insulation on some types of wire. It looks like a part of tongs wiith a small blade inside one side of it.

    Dear 95zombiekiller,

Hope you're well. The factory-installed fuel hose no longer is available. Fear not. When I brought my '93 940 to a mechanic for a state-required safety inspection, the mechanic showed me that the forward fuel filter banjo bolt had pin-holed.

I did not want to drive home with fuel being sprayed on the under-body. So, I asked the mechanic to replace the failed fitting and the hose, and - of course - the fuel filter. I provided the filter, copper seals, and the banjo bolts.

The mechanic replaced the fuel hose with a black nylon hose. He used a special pliers to press the hose onto the barbs at either end (fuel filter and fuel rail). While the hose looks "heat shrunk", it is not. For tools that will help, see: https://www.speedwaymotors.com/shop/hose-installation-tools~14-25-327-13460 .

The replacement hose does not have the rubber "armor" of the factory-original. It is routed the same as the factory-original so is well secured out of harm's way.

Any nylon fuel hose of the correct diameter - rated for fuel injection use - should be safe and serviceable. Run the hose through the factory-installed fuel line mounts. Use zip ties if additional "bracing" seems desirable.

    Hope this helps.

    Yours faithfully,

    Spook

Yes its replaceable. Its has layered construction with inner nylon fuel hose and outer rubber covering. Its unlikely to leak unless got chaffed or somewhat kinked.

I've replaced mine long time ago when its outer rubber covering appear cracked only to realise later that it had a nylon hose inside. Also made a mistake of not measuring the overall length of the old hose, the new one a tad shorter. New one already came terminated with their proper ends so its was just simple replacement. Thats it, you could repair using rubber/butyl tape or replace new.
