1993 940 wagon intermittent dashboard illumination light failure 900

Sometimes when I turn the headlight switch on, the dashboard illumination lights will not come on (instrument cluster/dashboard/climate).
I've replaced the headlight off/park/on switch, no fix.
Same problem if the car is or isn't running.
(This problem seems to be humidity related)

Could it be -
- the main headlight relay behind the ashtray, Bosch/Volvo #1324749
- the bulb failure relay in same location
??

Try manipulating the dashboard illumination switch back and forth. The potentiometer (sp?) can build up corrosion or have worn out areas that results in "dead" spots. -- Dave
