Yes.

Wire replacement is a bother. Use the correct wire. Hope you can re-use the two bullet style connectors, or get new. Get tough wire covered in high temp insulation meant for under car use (heat, road grime, dribbly oil coating the wire). Maybe place in a sheath and seal the sheath to the wire at least at the under car end to limit crud intrusion.
Have to lower the transmission quite a bit to gain access. The exhaust gets in the way a bit.
On my 1990 240 DL (li'l red) Wagon, I installed an unused 240 power mast aerial switch. Disconnected the wire harness from the connector where the blue wires route through the gear shift lever hole. Find the connector under the carpet near your ankle in the US left hand drive driver foot foot well. The two blue wires not under the car was fine. Connected two wires to the blue wires and routed with quick connect spade terms to secure at the 240 power mast aerial switch.
As the 240 power mast aerial switch does not light when on, I tend to forget to turn it off (sometimes on). Oop!
Not my dash. Same 240 power mast aerial switch I use for reverse lights between red EXHAUST TEMP warning light and green REAR DEMIST toggle switch.

On the plus side, with the 240 power mast aerial switch switched on and the reverse lights illuminated behind the 1990 240 DL (li'l red) Wagon, makes for useful light when when needed.
Hope that hepkats (halps).
