Front suspension question 140-160

I'm no Volvo expert. I'm proud to own my '73 145, but I'm still learning a lot about it. I just got a set of lowering springs, and when I took my front end apart to install them, only the driver side had a spacer up the in the shock tower. Is this normal? I ask because I know FJ Cruisers use slightly taller springs on the driver side to offset the driver weight.

That's correct for your car.

Front suspension question 140-160

Hello Dave,

No, not all of the 140 Volvos got the spring spacer.

Starting early in 1971 production, all 145 Volvos got the spacer until the end of production 1n 1974.

And only the 1974 142 and 1974 144 Volvo got them.
