Time is Up for This Brick 900 1994

Hello all,

I want to thank everyone who pitched in with the Board's characteristic generosity and expertise in diagnosing our old '94 945T.

The plan had been to sell the car in running condition to a Volvophile--hopefully someone who would park it out back with all his others, and decide whether to keep it running or part it out. Our boys, who had proudly driven the car over the past 10 years in their varied high school and college exploits, finally have fled the nest. Their faithful Brick, which had moved them in and out of dorms and to summer jobs and sporting events across the map, had been left behind.

As far as the plan went, my wife ran out of patience and I ran out of time available to get it going and move it out, so we decided to donate it to our public radio station. Today the car was towed to its retirement home, a pick-n-pull up North in Waukegan. Hopefully it will be a good donor to many others. (As the first picker, I took the grill ribbon and badge for a place of honor on the garage wall.)

This ends 25+ years and two iterations of Volvo ownership, but you never know what the future holds. In the meantime, our family will remember the car fondly and I will think back on the patience and helpfulness of so many on this board who tolerated my numbskull questions and mistakes. Too many to mention, but of course ... Spook, Art B., Dave S., Randy S., Don F., Robert P., "Buttermilk Boy", Aleekat ... all are remembered for their generosity, wisdom and good humor.

A final and substantial 'thanks' both verbal and monetary goes to Jarrod. This community serves a great purpose and deserves to live on as long as you can muster the support and energy. Thank you, thank you and thank you again.

See you around. And you new folks, please pull the fault codes before you post.

-- Greg R.
