Please be patient if you're receiving duplicate emails. The old server still sends some things that the new server/handling is handling.

I'm hoping to turn off the old server today.

If you hover over emails, you can see that the anonymous email system has changed.

There are some small changes to the messages, but I'll try to make them familiar and improve as needed.

For the computer techies, I'm switching to fully platform (PaaS) based handling. I moved everything to python code, which will be better suited for serverless implementation. This is AWS SES and SNS handling the requests with a temporarily server-based endpoint. The latter can move to Lambda, but I wanted to work out the code, as Python is new to me, prior to jumping into that.

As I figure all of this out, including moving just about everything to JSON, I will eventually be able to eliminate the server altogether. That will take time, but I'm moving that direction.

I'll also have the ability to implement different forms of notification, which could be nice for users: SMS, mobile push, etc.

Of course, when I'm done with this, I'll have forum software with outrageous scalability. I'll likely launch some other topic on another domain to see where I can take it.

This could allow me to tinker with the UI/UX without annoying the Brickboard user base. I HAVE been thinking for a long time about better mobile. These javascript frameworks could make it so easy to upgrade to something much more usable and familiar, probably especially for younger users.

Jim Perry is unable to figure out image upload in the BrickPix. I'd love to see his images as I imagine others would also. I'll hope Eric Planetman can upload Mr. Perry's images. Why I always post our dear Art's bright and happy infographic of how to link them images.

Improve the on-screen UI text instructions? I can write UI text. Maybe reconfigure the on-screen user flow a bit. I can make wire frames to suggest a user flow.

Though I'll guess you may want to design and code a more intuitive client-side interface.

I'll guess other have ideas for you also!

I get an email with a link to my post and a link to the reply. That's fine. I know which is which, so I click the reply link.

However, what I'd really like to see is emails for new posts to any thread I'm following, not just replies to my post. Would that be possible? Also, would it be possible to subscribe to a thread and receive emails for new posts without actually posting a reply?

What you saw and Klaus saw reflect changes I made today. Klaus might not have seen the reply email with two links when he posted.

As of this afternoon, you get the notice that someone replied to your post. The link to what you just posted might not be that useful. I can add a way to disable that.

No techie here, but I noticed latency seems to be gone and the email notification of thread replies is up and running. It sounds like this has been a ton of coding. Thanks very much for all your work.
