Distributor Seal Kit? 200 1988

1988 240 N/A with 300k miles. Oil was inside the distributor cap. On removal and inspection, the two outer oil seals are rigid.

I checked FAQs.

https://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/ElectricalIgnition.htm#DistributorandShaftSealReplacement

FCP Euro no longer sells the oil seal kit. The Honda part is available for $8.95 that fits on the inside of the distributor. Ebay only sells 1988 740 distributor oil seal kits, which I believe are mounted to the camshaft, not the intermediate shaft in the front, like on my Volvo. Plus, the aftermarket are black; according to the FAQs, a Volvo TSB recommended the green elastomer version for better durability.

Any ideas on getting the seal kit?

Thanks

See if Ebay or Amazon sell a 240 distributor....I was going to seal my 740 distributor, but found a complete after market one for $50. Brand new.

Thanks. No luck with mine, which is intermediate shaft driven and a whole lot easier to replace than yours.

HELLO, HE SAID 240!!

Unfortunately it didn't help that the OP is showing the wrong distributor reseal kit as those kits are for the 700/900 Volvos that have the distributor mounted on the back of the head.

ALL 240'S HAVE DISTRIBUTORS MOUNTED NEAR THE LEFT FRONT OF THE ENGINE BLOCK AND THAT DISTRIBUTOR ONLY HAS ONLY 1 REPLACEABLE O-RING ON THE SHAFT, VOLVO PART NUMBER 949659.

I usually have this o-ring in stock as it also fits the breather box.

OK, my apologies! My first suggestion was for a 240 part, but I guess I wasn't careful enough with my follow-up suggestion.

Did you read my post to you from another thread when you asked about where to get parts.

My 1988 240DL N/A has 300k miles. Are there hard-to-find parts that I should start collecting when I go to junkyards?
Recently, it had oil in the top of the distributor.
Is there a lifespan for distributors? I priced rebuilds and they're over $200, but I can't find any rebuild kits; are you aware of any. )))

My advice would be to find and support a ReCycler/Dismantler with an indoor facility.
There are currently 2 Recyclers around now. Both in the Atlanta area.

This German company, Skandix, might have the seal you need? See the item in the link above.

Thanks. I think that the two outer o-rings are the source of the leak. I hope that the inner seal is not the cause of the leak.

If they are simple O rings then some stock O rings could probably do the job? Otherwise maybe Skandix could help - check their website?
