Fuel Gauge/Sender 120-130

I've read countless posts...it gets confusing. I have a new working gauge, new IPD sender and spent hours under the dash in order to get the right wires in place (it was a mess) Black wire to sender reads empty...remove and it reads full. Removed the sender and moved it and no difference (checked to see the swiper tab was making contact) Put in extra ground wires from sender to tank and to chassis. Any ideas? I have both seats out so I'm tryin to solve this before they get put back....any help Thanks!

Yeah...that's what got me to where I am now. It's a great trouble-shooting post but ultimately brings me to a dead end. I guess I'll look at the sender to chassis connection, and if that doesn't solve it then go through the wires that are connected to oil bulb and wiper switch and blinker...again. Or maybe assume that's all good and hook up a working sender from another car just to be sure the problem isn't on that end...Thanks

Put on the old sender and had girlfriend watch gauge as i moved it...and it worked. And back in the tank...now it doesn't work...could be cuz its parked on a hill...anyway, I'm gonna put my seats back in now that I know it's the sender. While under the dash I hooked the lighter up to a 10 amp fuse...I think lighters should always have a fuse between them and the ignition...best of luck to anyone else with same problem.

According to troubleshooting if gauge pegs full with wire off and empty when wire on then gauge and wiring are good and the fault is with the sender and that's what it was...I'm not sure that's true 100% but probably 90%...just my 2 cents
