Steering Center Link Dimension

I have a new steering center link with ball joints which I purchased for a 1974 164E. It is 16" long from outside to outside of the locking nuts on the shaft. It is not correct for the 164E or the 1800E. Does anyone have any idea which model this is for? Possibly a 544? The receipts are long gone and I would just like to give it to someone who can use it. If anyone knows which model this is for and/or would like to have it for the cost of shipping, let me know. If you need any other dimensions to confirm application, let me know.
Thanks!

Volvo had 2 different configurations of center link rods.

Alt 1 has center link ends with male threads and the tube has female threads while Alt 2 is the opposite with female ends and the tube has male threads.

Which do you have?

AFAIK, Volvo updated to everything to Alt 1.

What is critical is that the overall length is the same and that the ends have the correct taper to fit in the idler and pitman arms.

The ball joints have 1/2" (13mm) threaded rods (male) and the shaft is threaded 7/16" (11mm) to receive them (female). Alt 1.

Measurements:

The shaft is 20mm in the middle.
The shaft is 18mm at the ends, from the end to 60mm toward the middle from each side.

I list them this way because the ball joints seemed closer to imperial dimensions and the shaft seemed closer to metric but I am not a machinist and I couldn't say. I measured them with a digital caliper so I did notice that about them though, although they were not far off from either unit system i guess with tolerances.

Also, there are approximately 10 threads every 12mm so maybe it is metric?

Finally, while measuring I saw a stamp in the shaft W740. Is this a 740 center link? If so I am in the wrong forum. ;)

Thanks!

I meant the horizontal pin is 1/2" and the vertical pin is 7/16".
