Thanks for the reply! Does the 93 show two model number?

I have a manual transmission and I believe there is a different part for the automatics. The auto version has a cable attached to the shifter that controls the steering wheel lock and the manual does not.

The 93 manual trans lock / ignition switch may be the same one as used on the 92 Volvo.

      Thanks
      Dan

According to the 1988- 240 parts catalog, there is only 1 ignition lock assembly for all 1990- 240s.

The cable you mention doesn't connect to the ignition switch. I think that feature comes on later Volvos like the 850.

My 93 stick shift has a 3530152, which is supposed to be for all 90 - 92's.

The number you gave me is supposed to be for 93 automatics with a cable to the shifter. My daughter has an auto 93 but I have not been able to see the car to confirm if it actually does.

At any rate they are hard to find new and I am reluctant to buy a 26 or so year old part and go through all the effort to install it.

          Thanks

Although the part number you found looks like a good number, Volvo didn't always use the number stamped into the part.

And in this case, this is probably due to the fact the Volvo part number I supplied is described as a kit with 2 matching keys and Volvo sometimes doesn't sell individual parts of a kit.

There is an additional part number for the ignition lock assembly, but this is to get a lock with a specific key code to match a VIN.

In either case, both part numbers are NLA from Volvo.

Thanks again for your efforts, I wish it was easier to replace the lock / tumblers as it is in newer cars.

It doesn't help that Volvo changes part numbers!

I thought this was a more prevalent problem with the 240's, I have been surprised at the lack of responses to this issue in general.
