outside mirror 120-130 1966

I found the outside mirror laying on the garage floor this morning. It looks like the spring that hold the mirror and stem in place pulled through the small ring at the base of the stem.

What do you like for replacements ? Something that looks original would be nice...

Thanks

Greg

Someone might have a mirror where the base is OK but the silvering on the mirror has gone bad. Worth a shout I'd say. Yes, the small eye for the spring is prone to failure along with rust out of the spring itself.
Eric's post crossed mine. The type with the studs has the arm at the front of the base. This type does allow the quarterlight window to reverse for some cheap AC.

    Hello Greg,

The original door mirrors from Volvo are made of pot metal and the failure you had is quite common.

Volvo still sells pot metal door mirrors in 2 styles. 1 style used 2 sheet metal screws to retain it and the other style has 2 threaded studs that require going inside the door to install.

Both have the same trapezoidal shaped mirror heads.

I should have both styles in stock and they come with a new mounting gasket and installation hardware.
