940 wagon brake bleeding issue 900

Hi all,
Just changed the front front brakes on my 1993 940 wagon. One of the calibers had a stuck piston so I replaced both front calipers. Bled the system until it appeared there was no air in system the same way I have done for years. When car is running pedal is really soft and acts like air in the the system. May try a power bleeder. Any tips on what may be happening?

An older mechanic that I trust said while using an assisstant or power unit to apply pressure to bleed the ABS by cracking each fitting to let any air out & then go to the master.

One other possibility:

If you haven't changed brake fluid regularly, you could find that new fluid exposes weakness in the master cylinder. The symptoms you describe could be due to a worn seal in the master cylinder.

The right and left calipers could be easily mixed up and installed at wrong side of car. Ensure each is installed with its bleeder screw on top position. And if at any time the reservoir run dry during caliper installation you must bleed the MC too.

Regd power bleeder.. 900

I might add that "power bleeder" is one popular marketing term to sell these devices. I do own one but later went back using two-persons method. There is nothing "power" about them especially when you want to force trapped air out of brake lines. You won't see brake fluid jet like when using two-persons method. The two persons method is the BEST so far in getting rid of trapped air.

Power bleeder is only useful when you want to flush the old fluid out from normal working brake system.

I have a device that is a one-way blender valve attached to a bottle. I got it from Turner Motorsport. Takes the two-person method and turns it into a one-person method.
