1993 Header Pipe Difference? 900 1993

Eeuroparts says there is is Genuine Volvo Header pipe #3514974 for Regina FI to chassis #98632 ($257.93) and a Genuine Volvo Header pipe #31372161 for Regina FI from chassis #98633 ($120.33). Unfortunately, I have chassis #37298 so would need the spendy pipe.
What is the difference between the two header pipes?
Also, why is a different pipe used for Bosch FI with EGR?
Thanks

    1993 Header Pipe Difference? 900 1993

    Dear jd620,

Hope you're well. I believe Volvo Part #3514974 has been superseded by #31372165. This header pipe is sold www.fcpgroton.com for $128. Volvo Part #31372161 is sold by fcpgroton for $120.

Cars with Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) might require a different header pipe, even though the parts diagrams in Volvo VADIS - a superseded dealer parts/service database - show no connection between the EGR system and the header pipe. It is not obvious why EGR's presence (or absence) would change header pipe format.

In any event, as the price difference is $8, order whichever header pipe the folks at fcpgroton specify.

    Hope this helps.

    Yours faithfully,

    Spook
