940 A/C Compressor belt removal 900

Hi there,
I'm changing my Timing belt and water pump on my son's 1993 940 N/A wagon. Have removed all other belts but can't get the a/c compressor to swing up to get the a/c belt off belt off. I have loosed both bolts in the slide mounts on top and the bolts and the two bolts on the bottom mounts but it won't still budge to removed the belt. Am I missing something like a bolt somewhere?
Thanks so much.
Joel

You'd have to loosen those compressor bracket mounting bolts at the engine bracket too. Both upper and lower, inner and outer. Use short ring spanners (socket wrench too big to get in there) to loosen these bolts. For easier access, may need to remove the alternator out to access those upper bolts and remove lower engine guard pan to access those lower bolts.

Knowing how hard to get access to these bolts, I normally wedge-in a screwdriver then push it sideways to slid the old belt off the compressor pulley while turning the crankshaft pulley clockwise with socket wrench. And install the new belt likewise. Belt adjusting not needed if new belt has same length as the old one.

    Amarin.
