'71-'74 Radiator Replacement 140-160 1974

Looking for a replacement radiator for a '74 145. Radiator shops are going extinct in my area, and the few that there are have quoted $400+ for mine to be re-cored. I believe '71-'74 are all the same style. Looking for insight, suggestions, someone with one for sale? Located in Central California, willing to pay shipping for the right price.
Thanks Brickboard!

I should have a couple of radiators. 1 was pulled from a running car before heading off to Valhalla. Another I purchased as a spare from a retired Volvo mechanic who kept it as spare for his race prepped 142.

Send me an email. I can provide pix this weekend.

        Ianlogan,

I do have a radiator available. I have also tried to email you through the email link. I didn't get a reply back from you nor have I received your messages. Try goldbrixx at yahoo dot com . I have some pictures you can review.

        Thanks.

    Hello,

$400.00, although expensive, is a fair price and is actually low at least for my area of SoCal.

My radiator shop can no longer get aftermarket cores as they are no longer being made so the cores now have to be custom made.

I just had 1 done for a 1964 Volvo 544 and I had to charge the customer $600.00. I can get complete aftermarket radiators for the 544, but I don't like the quality and the fact they are have a 2 row core.

Unfortunately, no one makes a replacement radiator for your 145 yet. My brother decided to customize an aftermarket aluminum radiator, but it required a lot if mods including cutting and patching of the front frame section to make it fit. It works great but was a hassle.

If you opt for a recore, ask for a 3 row heavy duty/high efficiency core preferably with staggered core tubes. I'm not sure a cross flow radiator can be made with staggered core tubes, but it's worthwhile to ask.

What about a place like this? It appears they can give you pretty much whatever you want.
