rebuilding SU airfilters 120-130 1967

What are you using as a spacer on the stud that is right up against the filter element (so the tightening the nuts doesn't crush the filter) ? I'm using NAPA 6641 filters.

Thanks

Greg

Checked out the price of those Napa 6641 filters $19.41. YIKES!!!!!

I bought my filters from Carquest that were for the 65 Pontiac Tri Power and the two cost me about 8 bucks,,, 4 each. And they fit perfect the old SU filter ends.

I cut some 3/8" (I think) round steel tubing. Available at home depot.

Back when I was making & selling the conversion kits for the SU carbs, I used !/2' OD aluminum tubing, which had approx. 3/8" ID, which was a nice fit over the 5/16" bolts.
