I am looking for replacement seats or fabric for 1990 740 Turbo driver & passenger seats. The fabric part of the seat had a micro-checkered or peppered pattern (see attached).

Any suggestions on where I could get either the seats or the fabric to rebuild the seats?

The point in the last post that I made was that the material may no longer be available.

Things could be worse - Ford once made a custom, woven vinyl material for Lincoln seats - then the found out that the material stretched a but and pulled fur out of mink coats when the women got out!

My neighbor's base Mercury comet had such seats.

I can just see the Ford people sitting around a conference table discussing the problem of the material damaging The Lincoln drivers' mink coats. The problem was solved by just sending the material to be used for the Mercury Comet seats based on the idea that Comet drivers don't wear mink.....

Our '89 744 Turbo had houndstooth upholstery that looked quite nice.

How about Alcantara?

After we drove our '96 855R for a while, the leather seats in a new loaner that we got from out dealer felt positively crappy.

Volvo sometimes had custom fabric made. Our '12 XC70 has a cloth material that they had developed for them, it is similar to wet suit material.

I read that Volvo has not been in the air bag recalls because they wanted a softer material than is found in the recalled bags.
