Tranny Level Check 1800 1970

Think this is the first time I've tried to include an image with a post. Hope I did this correctly. Came across this image while tidying the 1800 folder on my computer. Got tired of having to put the car on four jack stands to level it to check the tranny/OD fluid level. So, after ensuring that the level was correct, I jacked up just the driver's side front wheel, made a tool, and then marked the correct level on the tool. Made this image so I could be consistent in making future checks.

Jeez! I hope I did this picture thing right as I have a few other interesting mods I'd like to share and one picture is worth 1000 words.

Ingenious but instead of the complex dip stick you can just use your finger. If the tip touches the oil there is enough there. When level the oil may or may not start to seep out when you remove the plug but the finger check will tell what the level is. The back axle can also be checked this way. If in doubt top up.
